England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland

The lesson for Monday will begin with a 5 minute warm up activity where the teacher introduces the topic for the week. Through a brief explanation of British conquest through the world, the students will learn how the English language spread. The lesson will follow with two powerpoint presentations given by the assistant on the history and culture of these islands. The presentation including time at the end to answer questions will take around 15 minutes of class time. After, the travel-related vocabulary will be introduced for the unit. The students will receive a vocabulary list for their reference throughout the week. We will review the vocabulary together defining all the terms. The teacher will have a significant role here, translating the terms for the students on their worksheets. They will then glue these sheets into their notebook. This activity will take 10 minutes. The class will end with a Kahoot reviewing the material from the presentation. This activity will require the class to split into groups and utilize the i-pads provided on loan by the school. This activity will take up the remainder of the class period. They will be asked as homework to review the vocabulary for a game the following day.
