The American Dream
This lesson on Tuesday will start with a warm up activity asking the students what they already know about The United States. After brainstorming for about 5 minutes the students will watch a short video highlighting fun facts about the United States. This video will take up about 10 minutes of class time. After, the students will review the vocabulary presented to them in the previous class. The assistant will flip through a set of flashcards made on quizlet asking students to raise their hands and give the meaning of the word. After reviewing, the students will play pictionary using their vocabulary list. These vocabulary activities together will take 20-25 minutes. In the remaining class time, the teacher will present the new grammar concept: the present continuous for future plans. The teacher will explain the main uses of the tense including useful examples. Then they will show how to form the tense asking students to copy it into their notebook. The students will be asked to review this concept for homework.
